In Þorlákshöfn in the south of Iceland, construction has begun on the largest terrestrial aquaculture facility in Iceland, owned by Landeldi. Ultimately, around 40,000 tons of salmon are to be farmed at the plant per year. The company intends to use all farm waste as fertiliser. This project will create around 170 new jobs in the area.
